Connectors

Connectors contain a library of pre-built API tools that allow users to configure and enhance the ThingTech application by leveraging data from 3rd party sources. Connectors are categorized by:

Data Import: Wizard user interface that allows for the batch import of data into ThingTech via .csv file.

Enterprise: Library of 3rd party SaaS solutions that allow users to authenticate and map data between ThingTech and 3rd party systems.

IoT: Library of 3rd party IoT devices and streaming services to connect all of your Things into RealTime.

To Navigate to the Connectors page:

 Select Admin > Connectors

Importing or Updating Data

  1. From the Connectors screen, Choose the ‘Data Import’ option from the top panel

2. Choose an Operation

Select whether Data Import is an Insert, Update, or Upsert

  • Insert – Importing new records to ThingTech

  • Update – Update existing records to ThingTech. Users should be prepared to identify a unique ID to correlate to a ThingTech record.

  • Upsert – Update existing records and insert new records to ThingTech.

3. Select Class. Choices will include:

Users

Devices

Vehicles

Employees

Rules

Any Custom Classes

4. Upload CSV File, the file can be uploaded by dropping it into the sub-portal or clicking within the sub-portal.

5. Map your data file to ThingTech

a.      After the .csv file has been uploaded, map the data columns produced to the Realtime Fields available.

b.     Affirm that the ‘Source Header’ column in the uploaded .csv file are assigned to the appropriate ‘Destination Field’.

c.      Select ‘Upload’

Enterprise or Salesforce Connector

Navigate to Salesforce Connector by selecting ‘Enterprise’ from the Admin tab > Connectors.

Here you can connect to Salesforce and map objects , classes, fields , and directions of sync.
